SentimentSuperSet
SentimentSuperSet explores moments of magical realism and strange meditation, comprising a superset full of our deepest fascinations.
The pieces stem from the desire to capture uncommon natural behaviours seen in the surreal sway of oceanic tides, playful lava flows, and the calmness of small breathing creatures, each existing independently yet intricately entwined together to form a larger, more complex universe.
Initially commisioned by Untitled Gallery in Berlin as a visual installation in July 2024, SentimentSuperSet was recently featured as part of the MUTEK AR 6th Edition festival in collaboration with ARTLAB gallery.
Artists: Raquel Villa and Lukas Rafik Mayer
SentimentSuperSet
gives space to the soothing rhythms of oceanic tides, speculating with this close to our heart natural phenomenon through a more intimate lens.
We wanted to capture the fascinating self-transportation that happens in your brain when you get absorbed by observing the sea waves. That mouth opening, “What were you saying? Sorry, I got distracted” moment - the piece allowing for enough space and time to let anyone who observes for enough time to sink in.

A cherished element in this ecosystem are the tiny breathing organisms that live in symbiosis with this sinusoidal world.
SentimentSuperSet nurtures a small, frog-like alien character that finds its place in unconventional spaces, in strange nooks and crannies, just existing, staring around and breathing.
The breathing cycles of these beings are merged with the back and forth sways of the tides and the pulsing movements of the lava, interlacing the soft rythms that build this world.
